We are constantly looking for young, committed, engineers to join our group. We work with TCP/IP networks, Unix based systems, and shellscript, C, Perl, and Java programming languages, not necessarily in that order. We place importance on the non-proprietary nature of systems and solutions that we build. And we do not accept off-shore development projects which involve sending our engineers to offices of non-Indian clients for long periods of software development. In other words, we are not "body shoppers".
Here is an excerpt from the last print ad that we placed in Express Computer for new engineers to join us:
We are a premier technical consultancy organisation specialising in Intranets, Web-based applications, and TCP/IP networking. We are a wholly Indian company, founded by professional engineers with extensive experience in the field. Our clients include ICICI, Reliance Industries, the Indian Express group, and other members of India's corporate elite. All our work is done in Mumbai; we do not send programmers abroad for offshore development work.
We are looking for young programmers, with 0 to 2 years experience.
MandatoryHighly desirable
- A B.Sc. degree in physics or mathematics, or an engineering degree
- Excellent, not merely good, C programming skills
- A degree in Computer Science
- Excellent command over written and spoken English, with a taste in literature
- In-depth knowledge of Unix

The selection process will involve a C programming test followed by a personal interview. The C programming test will be of one hour duration, [...] Please do NOT submit your biodatas now. Candidates who perform well in the programming test will be called for the personal interview, before which they will be asked to submit their biodatas.
If this sort of work and company profile interests you, and you think you are really good, let us know; we want you. You will have to take a C programming test before we consider your resume. If you have completed your CCST course from NCST, and are either partially or fully through with your PGDST course at NCST, then we used to waive the C programming test for you. Note: This is no longer applicable. We generally find that NCST diploma-holders do only marginally better in our C test than non-students of NCST. On an average, less than 20% of NCST alumni qualify in our C test. Therefore, we have stopped giving the waiver to NCST students.
We are in the process of building an elite consulting group which will have the skills and knowledge to advise clients on any Internet-related, or networking-related issue. All our members do hands-on work, and are expert programmers. We are looking for good engineers, who have a feel for engineering elegance, and who are committed to providing pragmatic and cost-effective solutions using open technology. We want to be the best, not in size or turnover, but in quality of work and depth of knowledge in our areas of expertise.
We know that brilliant software people who are excited by technology and hate to work amidst mediocrity have very few options in the industry. Our founding members have all experienced this at some point in their careers. We want to provide you that rare option.
Most programmers we encounter have inadequate competence, who do not fully understand the difference between
&xand*xafter a year of using C. More than 90% of the applicants who take our simple, multiple-choice C programming test do not score qualifying marks. We want to pull out only the best from among you, and then give you a work environment that cannot be compared to any other in the Indian software industry. Thorough performance reviews every six months ensure the ongoing quality of our team.Come, join us. Let's do some real engineering.
